Why Bing Will Ultimately Fail

By Randy Jensen | Jun 4, 2009

I clicked on a link off of the MSN homepage today and this is what I saw…

Bing Sucks

Why would Microsoft start combining not only Live search with Bing search, but also the MSN branding with Bing instead of MS branding?? They have some serious issues here.

Skydiving Was Amazing!

By Randy Jensen | May 30, 2009

I’ve been wanting to go skydiving for a while now. I finally got the chance to go today. It was absolutey incredible. Pics and video below.

Me Skydiving
Shortly after we jumped out of the plane. You spend about 60 seconds in freefall and 3-5 minutes of canopy ride.

My instructor is apparently bored… (can’t blame him considering he could do 10+ jumps a day though :)

Me Skydiving
Just pulled the chute. You go from 120 mph to 20 mph in under 2 seconds…Hence the constipated look on my face.

Last shot of the camera guy before he completely disappeared.

Remove Tabs From Adobe Photoshop CS4

By Randy Jensen | Mar 25, 2009

Photoshop Logo CS4I’m just going to cut to the chase: The tabs in Photoshop SUCK. This is coming from the guy who wants tabs everywhere. In explorer/file browser, my browser, my text editor…can you imagine how easy the universe would be to navigate if all the planets were simply tabs? Want to go to Mars? Just CTRL + Tab over to it. Simple right?

With all of this love for tabs, I am completely dumbfounded by the use of tabs in Photoshop. I really tried to like it, but it’s just not intuitive and it’s mind blowing that this was made the default for such an amazing product. Here’s how to turn them off, and actually start getting some work done again.

Go to ‘Edit’ –> ‘Preferences’ –> ‘Interface’
Turn Off Photoshop Tabs

Now uncheck the ‘Open Documents as Tabs’ option
Turn Off Photoshop Tabs

Google Ad Fail

By Randy Jensen | Mar 13, 2009

Came across this video on YouTube the other day…but the thing that caught my eye was the name of the video combined with the giant Google Ad to the right.

Funny Pandora Fail

By Randy Jensen | Feb 25, 2009

I started Pandora up at work today like I always do. The first song that came up was Hawthorn Heights “Blue Burns Orange”. No big deal. Then I looked at the album artwork…

Pandora Hilary Duff Fail

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Hawthorn Heights before, but they’re kinda hot, in a weird “I think I’m too old for you” sort of way.

UPDATE

Just got another one. Puddle of Mudd with Alice Cooper’s coverart

How To Beat the Recession Without a Government Bailout

By Randy Jensen | Feb 8, 2009

Odd that Saturday Night Live would hold the key to beating the recession, but I think they’ve finally solved America’s woes. If you’re in debt and having trouble getting out, you may want to watch the video below.

I have a feeling the name of the book was changed to ‘Stuff’ after the shitheads employees at the FCC got ahold of this skit.

Computer Basics 101: Phishing

By Randy Jensen | Feb 3, 2009

I think everyone should have to take a test to use the computer. Think: Driver’s Training, but for computers. There are just far too many people out there that have absolutely no idea what they are doing and that will click on anything they see that even looks remotely interesting. What confuses me is why intelligent people who would never go down a dark alley on the wrong side of town at 2am and ask for directions but will go to some shady website that they’ve never heard of and click on anything they’re told to? Why is there such a disconnect?

Enough ranting. Please make every one of your relatives watch this video. You know, the one who still thinks that ‘blue e’ on their desktop IS the internet. The one who downloads anything and everything that is sent to them and then asks you why their computer doesn’t work. You know, the guy who tried to help that Nigerian king last year. That guy.

Introducing the MacBook Wheel…

By Randy Jensen | Jan 5, 2009

The guys over at The Onion have a breaking story on the revolutionary MacBook Wheel. Why does this product remind me of the iPhone in so many ways? I could try to explain the video…but you really just need to watch it.

Apple Introduces Revolutionary New Laptop With No Keyboard

"At Apple our philosophy is to create products that are simple to use. And nothing is more simple to use than a single giant button."

"Everything is just a few hundred clicks away."

"At Apple, we give customers features they don’t even realize they want yet."

"I’ll buy almost anything if it’s shiny and made by Apple."

"I like how the email automatically says ‘Sent from the MacBook Wheel’ that way people know you have one."

"The Hummingbird battery which can power the MacBook Wheel for a full 19 minutes before needing to be recharged."
