Hey Josh, glad you found it helpful! Crossover is similar to WINE, but more fine tuned (they have a bigger budget since you have to buy it) http://www.codeweavers.com/products/ . I've been running Ubuntu full time for about 3-4 months I think and I've been quite impressed at how far it's come.

It's not perfect by any means, and there a several times that you still have to jump into the command line (luckily I'm comfortable in there), but overall, I've been very happy.

You also shouldn't have trouble with the Nvidia drivers anymore. Ubuntu should detect them automatically and ask if you want to install proprietary drivers...and you're done!

The flexibility compared to the Mac is unparalleled. Windows offers quite a bit of flexibility as well, but you're in complete control in Linux. I'm actually working on an article detailing how to make the Mac's windows/desktop management look childish in Ubuntu. Compiz is absolutely mindblowing when it's configured well.

That is fantastic. What is crossover? It has been a while since I used Ubuntu at the house. I had previously tried to install Photoshop using Wine, and it would always open the graphic that says it is loading, but the program would only work the one time and then after that would return errors. So, I gave up and went back to Win (ugh!). I had never heard of Crossover until now, so that is promising. I love the fexibility of the Gnome desktop, so I might try to switch back now. I have also been really impressed with the way that Linux handles Nvidea graphics (if you can get the driver installed). I am a full-time designer, so it is nice to see other people that can easily see the advantages that a Gnome environment has (file storage, security, graphics, etc...) as opposed to Windows or Mac for that matter. Thx for the vid.
